Have you ever had God give you a Word for someone, that was so precise, and dreadful in nature, that if it turned out to be wrong, you could be labeled a false prophet, your reputation could be ruined, name smeared? Even thinking about giving the word caused anxiety? If He hasn't, I pray He would! Whom do you fear? God, Man? At that moment you might fear both! You might tremble. But at this moment human fear and reverential awe (fear) are battling for right of way through you. You need boldness!

So maybe you don't prophecy to people. The real question here is how do we treat the Word of God? Any Word of God. Today.

In Ezra's day the people who feared God feared His words through the prophets. There were consequences if His commandments were not followed.

Today we have bibles and are on the New Testament side of God's plan which is called grace through faith. So seemingly, no wrath of God to fear, right? Ok but there is something else you need to know. Deut. 8:3 says, "man does not live by bread alone, but lives by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord. *To live the God kind of Life we need to understand and obey His Words. John 6:53 says His words are Spirit and they are Life. *Preachers tell us to feed on the words in our bibles, and that faith will come and we will receive what we need from the Lord.

Listen to what the Word says about itself. John 1:1 In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (and still is)

And the Word (Christ) became flesh and dwelt among us;

John 17:17 Jesus prayed this: Sanctify them, by the truth; your Word is Truth *The washing of the water of the Word makes you clean from the worlds motives and ways.

Psalm 15:1,2 Lord, who shall abide in Your tabernacle? Who shall dwell on Your holy hill? He who walks and lives uprightly, who works rightness and thinks and speaks the truth in his heart, *For as a man thinks, so is he

Ps 51:6 Behold, You desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart. *I should desire His Truth in my inner being.

Words are conveyers of thoughts. God's Words are exact completed thoughts which are conveyed through scripture, and the inner witness Holy Spirit.

The Words of God all have an intended purpose. For example 3 John 2 says, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."

The Words of God are full of God's Nature and power. *These are in you when you agree and focus on them.

His Words have the ability of God in them to bring about what He says. *Abiding in the Truth is what is necessary for those Words to come into manifestation in your life. Of course not all of His Words at once!

And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will make you free. *To be intimate with the truth, is to be intimate with Jesus and the Father. So get to know them through the written Word.

Taking God's thoughts and making them my own. That is what this is all about. If you take ownership of a thought, then you agree with it and the source that produced it. The goal is to produce the same result God did when He created that Word, by thinking it over and over and over until it abides in us and brings Life. By His Stripes I am healed!

Worship of God is also involved in His Word abiding in us. God is the same as His Word!

God is a Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth *Knowing Him for who He is, the Truth. *Without truth there is deception.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me. *You could put it this way: No one comes to the Father except through Me the Truth.

John 15:7 Jesus also said, "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you."

But when the Comforter comes, Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth Who proceeds from the Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me. *The Spirit of truth will always tell you the truth.

Nothing is too difficult that the abiding Word can't overcome it.

"Abide" in Webster's is:

abada, to be, or exist, to dwell, rest, continue, stand firm, or be stationary for anytime indefinitely

To endure or sustain. To remain, To continue permanently or in the same state; to be firm and immovable.

Knowing the Truth of God's Word trumps knowing the devil's circumstances and symptoms. Abiding with the Word in you will cause the enemy's house of cards to fall apart because greater is He who is in you than "it" (the devil) is in the world! Remember, Jesus overcame the devils temptations by speaking God's indwelling Word - so can you.
