Why talk about and study Healing?

Jesus Christ paid the price of His life on earth dying for our sins and the result of sin: sickness and disease. To study and to meditate on scripture is to fellowship with God, and allow Jesus to produce in us the faith necessary to receive what He has already provided. One of those things He provided is Healing.

God is 3 in one, and He created us 3 in one: We have a spirit, we live in a body and we have a soul (which is mind, will & emotions). When we get saved our spirit(man) is brand new! Sin is washed away. Our soul (mind, will & emotions) needs to be renewed by the washing of the water by the Word. Ephesians 5:26 What happens in our spirit and soul realm affects our bodies. God wants us well in all 3 areas.

Who is Jesus, what is He?

First, we need to understand what scripture says about who Jesus is and what He is. Of course He is the Savior of the world which He created. There is more.

Let's turn to the book of John to the 1st verse and read…

John 1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by Him (the Word)

14 And the Word (God) was made flesh, and dwelt among us (in the person of Jesus)

17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

John 14:6 - 6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life

John 14: 23 - 23 Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loves me, he will keep my Words v 24 - and the Word which ye hear is not mine, but the

Father's which sent me.

Can you see the relation between God and His Word and Jesus? They are the same. The Godhead is Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit. Romans 1:16 says. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel (Word)of Christ: for it is the power of God unto (to) salvation to everyone that believes." So you can have the Word and know what it says, but you also need to know its power. The power in the Word will bring about the promise of the Word in those who believe. (Believing in the heart not in your head only)

Healing is part of Christ's Atonement- What is atonement?

Romans 5:11

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Webster's 1828 dictionary: In theology, 1.The means by which reconciliation is reached, after enmity or controversy. In the Old Testament - as sacrifices and purification and the obedience and death of Christ among Christians.

And Moses said to Aaron, go to the altar, and offer thy sin-offering, and thy burnt-offering, and make an atonement for thyself and for the people.

Leviticus 9:7.

Basically, atonement is that Jesus became sin, took our place and died for us!

Our sin has been taken care of and also sin's curse, which is disease and death.

How do we know whether it is God's will to heal?

We look to the Word (God/Jesus), for the answer: Example: Exodus 15:26 says, " I am the Lord that heals you; There are many, many scriptures which point to this truth. If you are experiencing sickness, disease or pain, remember, all truth has the ability to heal and is from God and is God!
