What is a faith victory

To a lot of people, a faith victory is a lot like winning a lottery. We will take a really big chance and somehow our need is fulfilled when the object of our faith shows up. I did this for a while going into gas stations and asking God to show me if there were any winning lottery tickets there today and if so which one should I buy? It began to work for me and then not so much. The problem was me looking for a miracle in a gas station and not from faith in God. What did I mean? Well sometimes we think that we are smart enough to bypass the system and win by luck. But luck rhymes with duck and it is never soon enough (to duck)!

God corrected me one day and set me up in a gas station right behind a woman in line who needed a dollar to pay for her purchase. I thought, “I better give her a buck or I’ll be here all day, so I did.” After paying for my purchase, and going out to the van, that lady came running up to me with a couple of lottery tickets and said thank you for helping me, I hope you win big and remember me! I said, “all right I will”. God spoke to me after that and said, “If you were to win a lottery it would be more like that woman handing you the tickets, without you asking Me for which ticket to pick!”

Webster defines victory as: The advantage or superiority gained over spiritual enemies, over passions and appetites, or over temptations, or in any struggle or competition.

Where was the struggle or competition at the gas stations? Wasn’t part of it. God? Probably waiting patiently for me to seek Him instead of the blessing!

Deuteronomy 20:4  “the Lord your God is He who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.”

In other words, get quiet, listen for God’s voice, hear what He has to say, go do what God says, He will go with you and fight for you and give you the victory! You do know that there is a fight of faith? Why? Because we have a common enemy trying to stop our advance as believers. This is what a faith victory is. Us trusting in God, that what He says is true, (His promises), and not wavering in faith or letting unbelief block us from receiving, persevering until our need is met.

2 Samuel 8:6 And the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went. How would you like to be a modern day victor fighting your own fights of faith? and seeing victory wherever you go? If the potential was there for David, then, I propose it is there for you, for God is not a respecter of persons.

When someone determines to have faith in the blessings which God has already said in His Word belong to him or her, then the fight begins. Not mortal against mortal but us and God against the unseen enemies of Ephesians 6! The supernatural forces of heaven take up your cause and God is leading, making a way for your victory.

1 Corinthians 15:54 “When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

How We Fight to See Faith Victories

Ephesians 6:10-18 “Be strong in the Lord, in His might”

How- believe the Lord is the strength of my life - receive it from Him now Let the weak say, “I am strong.” And now that you are strong, you can lift the armor and carry it with you!

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes - cunning arts, deceit, craft, trickery of the devil.” Looks like the armor has deception-sensing exterior. Sounds like the way it was written it gives you advance warning of incoming trickery.

“The fight is against the world rulers, the authorities (power), cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places, (unseen forces) with cloaking devices”

“Therefore take up the whole (spiritual) armor of God, that you may be able to withstand.”  Webster's definition; (to set one's self against, to oppose; to resist, either with physical or moral force;)

14 “Stand therefore, having (already) fastened on the belt of truth, against lies and deception.”

15 “And having (already) put on the breastplate of righteousness”, knowing that we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

“As shoes for your feet, having (already) put on the (readiness) given by the gospel of peace.”

16 “In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one”; (accusation

17” And take the helmet of salvation,” (against negative thought life, and protecting as it were the mind of Christ within us.)

“The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God”, offensive weapon (keeping our words we speak aligned to the Word of God)

18” Praying at all times in the Holy Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.” (unknown tongues the enemy can’t decipher) Keeping our connection with God.

This is Love’s Victory           Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”              Galatians 5:6 “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.”

Here is the end result; Ephesians 6:23 “Peace brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Anything that attacks your faith or your love for God is the enemy. Faith can't work without love. Here is the thing, the enemy is going to try and separate your faith from God’s love. Be vigilant against those voices in your head saying, ‘you will never get it.’ Or ‘there is something wrong with me’, ‘I’m not good enough.’  Demonic lies can chip away at faith. So can self-pity. “Poor old me.” Or if you're young, “poor me.” The love of God in you, for you, around you for others must be protected like it was a million dollars. Because in the end what God’s love provides is worth far more especially in terms of things money can’t buy. We want our faith working through love! Example of faith working through love: I believe God’s Love will heal you as we pray and invite God into our midst, God wants you well, I want you well, it is going to happen as He said.

Another tactic the enemy promotes is ‘kick the can down the road’, see how long you can avoid taking up the spiritual fight. All this does is to make situations worse! Taking responsibility right away is the move that can avoid heart ache and get the ball rolling in your favor. God is waiting on you! Not the other way around. Let me ask you this, In Ephesians 6, to whom is Paul addressing his instructions too? Answer, believers. Are you a Believer? Then receive what he is admonishing you to receive! He is addressing us as a commander does his troops, so take his marching orders as him caring enough to direct you through the battle to the spoils of war! The blessings don’t just fall on us. Not usually, unless we are obeying the Lord’s commands.

Let's look at Proverbs 1 for a moment. Verse 20-23  “Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares.21 She cries out in the chief concourses, At the openings of the gates in the city She speaks her words: 22 “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, And fools hate knowledge.23 Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.” Verse 33 “But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.”

Can we take a side road here? Have you ever listed curses that you don’t want to come to pass just for information sake? I’m wanting us to deconstruct this information so that we can construct things in God’s way, His desire for us.

Here it is Proverbs 1:28-32- 28“Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.

Wait a minute, I thought God wanted us to call upon Him so that He could answer and deliver us from the curse? But there appears to be root causes blocking the blessing. 29 “Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the Lord, 30 They would have none of my counsel  And despised my every rebuke.31Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled to the full with their own counsel. (In other words, you are on your own, bub.)32 “For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them;” Is it always this way?

God’s Way: Deuteronomy 28:1-2 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:”

Deuteronomy 28:15, 24 15 “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:”

24 “The Lord will change the rain of your land to powder and dust; from the heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed.”

This is still the Old Testament.  And we have to take into account that Jesus had not yet gone to the cross. So God needed agreement to operate His plan on the earth.

God’s Will for You Today                                                  Obedience for the sake of blessing. Not the curses.                                           Deuteronomy 28  All the good things of these verses.                                    Psalm 3:8   “Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people.”                                                                                                    Psalm 128:1-6 speaks of the Blessing. Verse 1 says “Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways.”

Psalm 133:3 “...For there the Lord commanded the Blessing-Life forevermore”

Proverbs 10:22 “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.”

Isaiah 44:3 “For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring;”

Galatians 3:14 “that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ”

1 Corinthians 13:13 “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

His Love endures forever. Question: does the blessing operate because of love or necessity? Both.

In both the Old and New Testament the Bible shows us God’s will as being the same for us. Deuteronomy 20:4, Galatians 3:14 example; God will fight for us to bring us into the victory over our enemies who are trying to keep us from walking into the promised land God has for us. What do you need? What do you want? Relationship with God, along with faith in His blessings and Love that is the greatest spiritual fruit, will see you through to victory in this life and the next.

1 Corinthians 15:57 “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1Corinthians 15:55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”

1 John 5:4 “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” (which works by Love!)
