Our human condition is such that we are in need of God for everything that pertains to life. Most people live in a world -dominated reality conforming to its' principals, laws and traditions. After so many years pass, "believing in the system" is just what average folks do. We tend to treat the Government as the supplier of our needs. Yet our dollar bill says, "In God we trust" but do we really? Set up by antichrist entities with them as pawns, people are driven to succeed, to join the rat race to win over others by whatever means they deem suitable. "Gain as much as you can," is the battle cry. After all, they would do it to you if they could!
The toll life in such manner takes is stress, stress and more stress. Consider this, if you thrive on stress, then why is it killing you? Okay, you may have the beginnings of long term sickness or disease, not realizing that it's still the stress which is out to get you!
Doctors for the most part have limited treatments which are not cures but leave you less than whole.
So we tend to bring our stress with us to church as there are not many places except church where we can feel peace, unwind from the 9-5 and hope to hear a good word from pastor.
I'm all for good pastors, we need more.
What if even church was not being the resource you had hoped for or the balance you needed? You might say, "I'll look for a new church, you know there is a huge new one being built downtown, maybe they can help me?"
In a lot of ways, this is the life you didn't bargain for. A life so filled with the constant need of your attention that you don't even have time to pray like pastor said you should!
Welcome to American low level depression 101! All designed so you would have no hope of ever attaining to greater. This kind of state usually offers some high points, but we have really been duped as a culture into accepting the status quo especially if it is from the culture. But is it from culture or the spiritual realm? My wife and I taught our kids growing up, "if it is good it is God, if bad it is the devil" Oh, thanks for clarifying. You'd be surprised at how many folks don't consider this!
When life nears unbearable, becomes oppressive, and stress is climbing higher, I will certainly tell you the bible has the answer! Oh sure lots of preachers say that but where can it be found? Right here in the pages of the ancient text, written by 40 different authors over 1500 years. Written by prophets, shepherds, Kings, ordinary people, doctors, carpenters, fishermen, etc. This book tells us of the intervention of God with man, Miraculous testimonies and triumph over their enemies, healings, raising from the dead, signs, wonders accounts of God's creation and the virgin birth of the God- man Jesus into the earth.
Are you cynical ? discouraged? fearful? hopeless?
Keep listening for I believe the God of the Bible has something good in store for you.
The antidote for life in the world and its' lack of contentment is found in the pages of the bible, the Word of God. Psalm119:105 Your Word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
If we are experiencing darkness, God's Lamp is needed.
I can tell you that when I connected with the Word of God for the first time I had only heard of miracles from other people. So I went on a quest of my own to find out is this true or not? I needed God's Lamp.
I have since seen God do so many miracles that I've lost count! Forty years of walking with the God of all creation, glory to His name! Personal miracles, life saving miracles, medical miracles, salvations, financial miracles, devil casting out, and many others! Was I the source and reason for what I saw? No!! God was. Let tonight be the beginning of your quest! Whatever you are facing God will be your help and your salvation. Anybody here tonight that you can say I need God to do a miracle for me? Raise your hand. Wow. Stay with us and we will pray with you.
You know, earlier I mentioned low level depression as a symptom of the stress filled life. But it can be one of the average Christian just trying to make life work and it's not working for them the way they want. Here at Healing Hub, we recognize the need people have to be walking in a transformed, renewed mind, with God leading and us following. Sometimes God's people need Revival to get them back on track spiritually.
So where is the revival, how do I get transformed, and where is God?
In the days of Jesus on earth people were in hopeless situations, depressed states of mind, facing physical needs. They were in darkness because of Adams sin which had transferred his God given authority over to the serpent and left his descendents without recourse or the light of life of God within them. They had a covenant with God through a harsh law which couldn't be perfectly followed and so left them vulnerable. Consider the man Jesus who at age 30 was baptized by John the Baptist in public and then went out preaching to people and doing miracles. The new testament records only 19 accounts of miracles of Jesus but we know there were many more. Multitudes were healed by Him! Consider the process if you would and I believe you will find out your process can be the same.
Faith Process
So in those days people communicated via words to each other and not through phones, computers, TV etc. So communication usually took time to reach everyone. Let's take a look at the woman with the issue of blood for instance.
Mark 5:25-34
A woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years, 26 and had endured much at the hands of many physicians, and had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but rather had grown worse 27 after hearing about Jesus,( that He was healing sick people- notice there is a time period where she thought about what the Word meant to her) she came up in the crowd behind Him and touched His cloak. 28 For she thought, “If I just touch His garments, I will get well.” (Why did she think this?) She heard someone say that.29 Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction. 30 Immediately Jesus, perceiving in Himself that the power proceeding from Him had gone forth, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My garments?” 31 And His disciples said to Him, “You see the crowd pressing in on You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” 32 And He looked around to see the woman who had done this. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your affliction.”
What happens to you when on a hot day you see an image of someone eating an ice cream cone? A process starts with your thoughts, imagining you going to Culvers and fulfilling that image bringing it into reality. What happened to the woman in scripture? Same process but with the Word of God going forth, from one or more people, faith came as she thought about it. She thought about it, saying "If only I could touch the hem of His garment," enough to start seeing it in her imagination, which is the critical motivator (hope), the vehicle of transformation, effecting her mind and producing faith! What was the process? 1)Hearing the Word of God 2) Believing 3) Acting on her belief by saying and going towards Jesus 4) Receiving (Notice the garment was a point of contact).
When is the last time you had faith in Jesus because someone told you about Him? My friends it's time to stir up the mind with thoughts from God's Word about your need being met.
What is the effect of believing God in faith, and receiving your answer? Many people who were healed by Jesus went and told others!
You think they were excited? Probably became promoters of the kingdom! It has happened in this ministry!
This believing, euphoric state of a person having received a miracle is supernatural and has a purpose. Oh you've never heard this before? Revival is what happens! Shouldn't be a surprise. In Psalm 138:7 David says, 'though I walk in the midst of trouble, you will revive (make alive) me You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me.'
Some who were healed then followed Jesus.
Revive is in scripture 12 times. Translated it means 'to live, have life, remain alive, sustain life, live prosperously, live forever, be quickened, be alive, be restored to life or health'.
We need to ask God to revive us and He will…Websters 1828 definition: " To return to life; to recover life; To recover from a state of neglect, oblivion, obscurity or depression." In the next 11 weeks we - my wife Debra, and Sherry our dear sister in the Lord, and myself will endeavor to bring you understanding regarding personal transformation, with such topics as, "Daughters not Donkeys", "Authority" which is yours in Christ,
